When we receive the love of God–poured out in the slain and risen Christ, mediated by the indwelling Holy Spirit–we are caused to love as we have been loved. And when the love of God in Christ ignites the Christ-exalting love of others in us, God’s love is brought to completion in our lives and the fear of damnation is driven from our hearts….
This seems to be the main idea of 1 John 4:13-19
