John 17:21, “that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”
The identity of God as manifest in the crucified and risen Jesus is the Whole around and in which the Spirit unifies the many Parts of Christ’s body (John 17:11). This union to one another around the center of God’s beauty in Christ by the Spirit is a creaturely analogy to God’s own union within Himself in the Trinity, and by this union—expressed in self-giving love—the world will come to know the Jesus who dies and rises again as the Revealer of God sent from God. May it be so!
