Psalm 30:5, “Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes in the morning.”

I realized after I’d already started in on today’s picture that it is almost an exact duplicate of a picture I created last March….ah, well….what I like about this particular set up (and I remember now, what I liked about it last year) is that it makes it explicit that the “morning” for which we long (last March it was the “springtime” that comes after winter in Song of Songs 2:11-12), is not so much a place or an event but a person—namely, God as He is for us in His Son.

The dark night of a sorrow-shadowed world will pass away in the light of the eternally-brightening Morning of Christ Himself, Christ who swallowed up Night on the cross and showed Himself to be the True Morning whom we desire upon His resurrection from the dead.
The hope of Psalm 30:5 is purchased and proven by Christ’s Passion.
