Psalm 124:7, “We have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken and we have escaped.”
This was one of the Psalms that was sung during my time at the abbey of Gethsemani last week. As soon as I heard it, the attached image sprang to my mind. I’d never made the connection between the effect of Christ’s resurrection and this text, but it was a beautiful and encouraging thing to see. Indeed, the snare that has held the human race since Adam’s fall is broken and we—in Christ—have escaped.
